History and Mission

University Studies in English

What is today Centro Lincoln University College (C-LUC) began in 1992 as a junior college extension of Asociación Escuelas Lincoln (founded in 1936). The purpose was to provide one or two years of foundational studies in English for students wishing to transfer to universities in the United States or Canada, or to U.S.-style universities around the world.

A process of integration with the Universidad Nacional de San Martín (UNSAM), an Argentine public university also founded in 1992, began with the creation of the Instituto de Estudios Norteamericanos in 1996 and culminated with the creation of Centro LUC in 2005. This process has led to the establishment of a U.S. and an Argentine degree program in line with the mission of providing university studies in English on the Lincoln campus.

Transfer of Credits to the U.S.

Students may transfer one or two years of foundational studies at C-LUC to a university in the United States, Canada, or to U.S.-style universities in other parts of the world and complete a specialized undergraduate degree in two or three additional years. Since 1992, C- LUC students have been accepted for transfer to more than eighty colleges and universities around the world.

Undergraduate Degrees in Buenos Aires

Students may complete an undergraduate degree equivalent to a U.S. baccalaureate by studying four years at C-LUC. This degree, a Bachillerato Universitario en Artes Liberales, offers a major in either Cultural Studies or Policy Studies and is awarded by the National University of San Martín (UNSAM). After completing the Bachillerato Universitario, students have the option of obtaining the Licenciatura en Humanidades by completing two additional seminars and a thesis. Also, students may obtain an intermediate degree after completing two years, Diplomatura en Artes Liberales.
